Workout: As your core temperature rises and you start to sweat, feel good endorphins are released in your brain while coritsol (stress hormones) are suppressed.
Unplug: “living off the grid” 3-4 hours a day keep you from becoming overwhelmed with the barrage of emails, phone calls, texts etc.
Breathe: Deep belly breathing oxygenates your brain and body helping it feel invigorated and refreshed.
Get 7-8 hours of sleep at night: Need help getting more zzz’s? Add banana’s, peanuts, dairy and turkey to your diet which contain tryptophan, which helps produce melatonin.
Lay off the processed foods: The sugar, salt and preservatives can make you less motivated and depressed. Stick to whole foods (earth made, not man made).
Laugh: Laughing reduces tension and causes a spike in those feel good hormones. Not to mention a great belly workout!
Get a massage: Massage improves circulation, relieves pain and help muscles relax. A relaxed body mind equals a relaxed body!
Meditate: Sitting still without thoughts for 15 – 30 minutes can reduce stress levels and refocus your thoughts for the day as well as lower your blood pressure.
Get your vitamin B: A deficiency of Vitamin D may include depression, apathy and irritability which all contribute to stress. Add beans, eggs, nuts, peas and dairy products for starters.
Smell up some stress relieving scents: Lavender, rosemary and cypress are a few of the scents known to raise mood, reduce anxiety and aid focus.
