Hello hello!


For as long as I can remember I've wanted to help people. I didn't know how or what that might look like until I myself, needed help. I found that help in the health and fitness field. Now here I am 31 years later still working on me! šŸ¤Ø


šŸ¹ I tell everyone--I'm the greatest guinea pig around. There aren't too many diet or exercise programs out there that I haven't tried. That doesn't mean I know everything--far from it. I learn something new EVERY day and for that I'm thankful. But honestly, how can I share information about trends, fads, tips, facts if I haven't tried them out myself. Right?


šŸ‘‰ So now that I'm entering this NEW stage of life: menopause. It's no different.

  • Hot flashes

  • Weight gain

  • Insomnia

  • Lethargy

  • Dry skin

  • Low libido

  • Brain fog

The list goes on and on. Menopause is something we just don't talk much about in the health and fitness world. But I gotta tell ya---it's a HUGE mistake. Mainly, because it's REAL and it affects SO many women in different ways. I'm no different.


So I continue to test out different remedies on myself to find out what works and what doesn't. Let me tackle this first and most interesting phenomenon---HOT FLASHES!


First of all, they are the most interesting things to observe. I've never experienced such a crazy rush of heat in my life. šŸ”„ I'll be sitting, standing, sleeping or basically minding my business and all of a sudden...BOOM! There it is, I'm sweating, fanning myself, taking off any layer of clothing possible, wondering what the heck caused it.


Here's what I've discovered: For me....they come on when I'm anxious, excited, thinking about them or upset. I've discovered that they start in my legs and work their way up my body to my head until I break out into a sweat, then they go away.


This is what I have learned helps: I drink ice cold water as fast as I can, belly breathe and turn an imaginary dial counter clockwise that is right at my belly button. Turns out imagination is POWERFUL. I have very few hot flashes any more. Hope this is helpful!!

Colette--GREAT hack. I've done that too, even purchased a cooling pillow. SAWEET!! Can never have too many pillows...right?šŸ˜

Hot flash trick I sleep with 2 or more pillows and when the hot flash hits I swap out the pillow Iā€™m laying on for a cold pillow.
