I always wondered what the deeper meaning of a Cairn represented other than a stack of rocks left by hikers to mark a trail, so I did some DEEP thinking (ok digging).
Turns out there's a spiritual meaning behind it.
This act of balancing rocks can represent many things. It can be a sign of patience, balance, setting an intention of grace for thankfulness. These intentions can be offered up for another in need, or for yourself.
But for me, stacked rocks always represent mindfulness that someone else took the time and energy to make a statement. A statement that shows everyone who crosses that path that they were there, that they had an intention to share what balance and patience meant to them in that space and time.
In this picture I love the rocks they chose and the order they intentionally stacked the rocks.
What does a Cairn mean to you?
