Vacationing is hard! I mean… let’s be real. The fun, the food, the weight gain… its tough.  So, yah sounds like I’m complaining– but I’m really not, because my philosophy is YOU GOTTA LIVE! It’s literally what I preach.  But here’s the kicker…. YOU CAN’T LIVE EVERY DAY.  Right? It’s truly about balance.  

Once you reach your ideal body weight it’s actually tougher to maintain it.  The easy part is losing it.  

It’s not about deprivation EVER! It’s not ONE SIZE FITS ALL.  It’s about what works for you. And discovering that.  It’s pretty hard to figure that out alone, but because I’ve been at this for… ok 28 years, there! I said it…. I’ve got it dialed in. 

It’s SUPER fun helping others dial it in. 

Yes, I gained 6 lbs vacationing for a week, but I know EXACTLY what to do to get it off in the LEAST amount of time.  

By following protocol I’m already down 3.2 lbs in just one day.  Ok,  ok…. a lot of that is water, but what happens when that’s back to normal?

Taking the first step to change is ALWAYS the hardest! Once you take it, there’s never regret only more change. 

Awhile ago I posted about what to do when you’re injured and shared with you a little bit about my injury/journey to recovery.  This is a follow up to that post. 

I am happy to report I am 98% pain free!  Tip:  Doing corrective work PAYS OFF! 

Do you sit all day??  Can I just say…sitting for long periods of time KILLS your back, core, hip flexors, butt and slows down your metabolism.  I know first hand all to well about this.  Here’s what I did to heal my “butt”.  I hope this helps ANYONE dealing with back pain, piriformis issues, psoas issues or all of the above.  

  • Every 30 minutes I got up and moved
  • I worked my transverse abdominis daily with corrective exercises
  • I foam rolled my piriformis, IT band and quads daily
  • I did IT band corrective exercises
  • I stretched DAILY!

All of these things coupled with LOTS of water and natural anti-inflammatories (fish oil and Vit. C)  has really made a huge difference in my journey to healing.  Feel free to reach out if you have questions, I would love to help.  Cheers to health and healing!

The super bowl is RIGHT around the corner…are you ready?  Here’s tip number 3:  HYDRATE.  What does that mean exactly? 

  • Drink HALF your body weight in ounces of water.  (That does not include coffee, tea, pop, alcohol or anything that is NOT water. )
  • After 1 alcoholic drink, drink 1 12 ounce glass of water
  • If you are retaining water, take a salt shot.  (1/4 c. warm water with 1/2 tsp of pink Himalayan salt in it)
  • If you are working out, replace your water loss with 1 c. of water per hour worked out
