THANK YOU ALL for celebrating Christmas with me and my “assistant” (he’s taking the pic).  I wanted to throw a little soiree to give thanks and show gratitude for  another spectacular year working with such amazing people.  My clients are not just clients…they are my friends.  It’s amazing how close you become to complete strangers after working with them for 3 months and for some YEARS.  I’m so fortunate to be able to say I’ve been able to change lives for 28 years and have really met some truly wonderful people  along the way.  I can’t believe this is my “Job”!  HA!  When I was a kid and people would ask me what I wanted to do when I grow up, it wouldn’t have been this….like I don’t even know what “this” is.  I just know I LOVE helping people and have fun doing it!  So–here’s my Mindset Monday thought:  Do what you love and love what you do!  Life is TOO short!

Do what you have to do, until you can do what you want to do. The time will pass sooner than you think. Your goals will be achieved.

Happy Friday!!  I’m here to HELP YOU!!  I got this!!  Now it’s crunch time–you literally have 2 more weekends until CHRISTMAS are you stressing? You’ve got 3 Christmas parties to go to, band concerts, potlucks at work, gatherings with friends, no sleep, no exercise and more alcohol and sugar in your system now then you’ve had in 3 months.  You’re pooped, out of time, out of money and still have SO much to do!  HOW will it get done?  Here’s how:

  • Prioritize:  make a list of absolutely everything you have to do 
  • Then only put 3 items from your list on your DAILY to do list
  • You’ll actually FEEL more accomplished just by doing those 3 things and will PROBABLY get even more items completed!
  • Drink water!!  Water is life giving–no matter what else you do or don’t do–drink water!!
  • BREATHE!  Slow down and take 3 deep, thoughtful breaths.  Gather your wits and start again.

I know there are days you JUST don’t feel like working out.  I get it–I really do.  And I know some days you don’t even THINK about working out.  In fact, you can’t even REMEMBER the last time you worked out!  I hear you…that used to be me.  I was SO out of shape I couldn’t even remember what it was like to feel good in my own skin, let alone feel good at all.  I had no energy, no motivation, no love for life.  I was stuck.  I was at a health crisis…I bottomed out my thyroid and I needed to make some serious changes.  So I did…  I hired a coach and I made some major lifestyle changes!   Was it hard?  Yes!   Was I desperate?  Yes!!  Was it worth it?  YES!!!  Was it the best thing I ever did?  YES!!!  I always say:  “if it was easy, EVERYONE would do it!”  You can quote me om that!  Just DO IT!  All you have to do is REACH OUT!!

As we head into the holiday “season” full tilt, it will become increasingly impossible to take time for yourself.  Parties to go to, Christmas programs to attend, shopping, wrapping, mailing, missing workouts, eating crap…the list goes on and on.  What can you do to avoid the craziness?  

  1. Take a 10 minute walk
  2. Enjoy the little moments of time whenever you can
  3. Breathe!
  4. Sing, dance and laugh
  5. Set a timer to move (march in place for 1 minute)

Feeling the pressure of the holiday already?  Well, that’s TOTALLY normal.  But don’t let it SQUASH you and steal your energy!  Here are some things you can do to alleviate the pressure.

  • Get your sleep!  Don’t sacrifice that precious sleep for ANYTHING
  • Drink your water!  Don’t get dehydrated, it steals your energy
  • Prioritize!  Make a list of your top 3 priorities for the day and focus on getting those done ONLY
  • Take a nature walk!  Get some FRESH air and BREATHE the stress away
  • Make a STOP time!  When it’s quitting time…QUIT!  Unplug and be done for the day
